Intralase All Laser LASIK
SureVision patients can now choose vision correction surgery with more confidence than ever before. New, all-laser Intralase offers a new level of safety and precision.
What's the difference? Most LASIK involves manually creating a corneal flap through which the LASIK procedure will be performed. A hand-held microkeratome – which resembles a tiny carpenter's plane – is a hand-held instrument doctors normally used to create the flap by using a small metal blade to cleave a thin layer of the cornea.
We now create that flap with a computer controlled precision laser beam instead of a steel blade. Because of this new process, the risk of corneal abrasion is almost entirely eliminated, and the flap that is created is much more uniform, which makes the procedure safer not just immediately, but also reduces the risks of problems later in life.
Once the flap is created, we then use the Ladarvision Custom Cornea laser to measure and then treat up to about 20 different refractive aberrations to correct the patient's refractive error and improve the patient's vision. By using the combination of Intralase and Custom Cornea, many patients now have less glare , fewer night time haloes and better vision than they ever had in their lives.
